Hudson Mohawk-AHEC would like to share information about an upcoming Continuing Education Symposium being held on January 25th – 27th at the Queensbury Hotel, 88 Ridge St, Glens Falls, NY 12801. This conference is geared towards Nurses, Physicians, EMS Providers and others in the health care professions.
This program includes sessions on ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Refresher Course and Acute Stroke Fog during the Pre-Conference on January 25th.
ACLS (ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT) REFRESHER COURSE
Six-hour training course for those who have taken an initial ACLS training program and hold a currently expiring or recently expired ACLS card. Appropriate for nurses, doctors, dentists, oral surgeons, emergency room and operating room technicians, etc. Course includes a pre-test for placement and a refresher CPR course. An ACLS card will be provided upon successful course completion.
Instructor: Scott Cross is an American Heart Association instructor, who specializes in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and ACLS. His training includes Blood-borne Pathogens, Pet First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Babysitting classes, Oxygen administration. Scott was previously a New York State CIC (Certified Instructor Coordinator) at the BLS (Basic Life Support) level. Scott has 26 years of experience in emergency health care and 12 years as a trainer.
Acute Stroke Fog: One hour course for Registered Nurses seeking CE (Continuing Education) Credit
“Brain fog” following a stroke can be quite debilitating with the feeling of being in a hazy reality, disoriented, scattered, and dull; often trouble concentrating and remembering things. A common thread of stroke is inflammation of the brain from the initial trauma.
