Hudson Mohawk AHEC is committed to providing quality health education programs to build the healthcare workforce of tomorrow.
Health Career Exploration
Our career exploration programs provide unique opportunities to introduce young people to healthcare careers. We strive to introduce youth to the vast variety of careers available to them in the healthcare field and provide hands-on experience through summer camps, job shadowing, volunteer opportunities and internships.
Experiential Learning
We support health professions students by facilitating community-based experiential training in medically underserved communities. We can assist with identifying and coordinating field placements, clinical rotations, and job shadowing opportunities in rural and urban settings throughout our region.
We also offer the AHEC Scholars program, a national two-year program for health professions students which includes comprehensive didactic learning and community-based experiential placements as well as an opportunity to earn a stipend for each year of participation.
Continuing EducatioN/professional development
Our continuing education programs are designed to meet the changing workforce needs of healthcare professionals and ensure the recruitment and retention of a skilled workforce in underserved communities. We work closely with local healthcare organizations and social care providers to identify needed training and educational opportunities to meet the needs of employers and the healthcare workforce. . Continuing education credits are offered when possible.
Events have been offered via zoom as well as in-person to meet the needs of the workforce.

Opioid and Addiction Workforce Development
We work with communities to provide the education, training and support to assure persons with opioid addiction and substance use disorders have access to addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
